The article discusses two bronzes; a Greek parade helmet -- today in a dealer's collection, and a bronze head from Mesopotamia -- now in the Museum of Pre-and Protohistory, SMPK, Berlin. Both objects came from the art market and saw a lot of confusion about their authenticity in the museums. Technical examination of the manufacturing techniques of the bronzes shows how careful we should be with our arguments on authentic bronzes as well as fake objects.
