Abstract
Close to Agrileza in the southern part of Attica, between Laurion and Sounion, a very large ore washing site was excavated. Three workshops, consisting of washing places and cisterns, were detected. By means of pottery it is obvious that this site was operating in the 4th century BC. One of the three workshops, a 45-meter x 45-meter large complex, was closely investigated. It consists of a large cistern and about 15 rooms surrounding two central yards. The use of these rooms could be reconstructed on behalf of the archaeological finds. -- AATA
