Abstract
An energy dispersive XRF analyser based on either a small x-ray tube or Americium radioactive source was found to be suitable for distinguishing amongst the sources of a range of New Zealand lithic materials used for prehistoric stone tool manufacture. Trace and major elements were determined for argillites, indurated limestones, and cherts. -- AATA
