This project is a preliminary evaluation of the dry-cleaning technique of surface rubbing with commercially available erasers. It is acknowledged that effects of these will vary, dependent on the nature of papers being treated and the rubbing pressure applied. These two factors have been maintained constant during experimental testing to enable a relative analysis of eraser types.
