During the past 10 years the number of restored fine art works has grown, and the Charter of Venice has been a basic guide for this work from the outset. One of the most important principles in the Charter is that the primary task of monument protection must be to conserve ancient monuments together with the parts belonging to them organically without making any essential changes. -- AATA
