Results obtained since 1967 by thin-layer chromatography of sugars and related compounds are discussed. One-dimensional and two-dimensional separations on cellulose, silica gel and kieselguhr are reported. The new processes proposed for visualization, identification and quantitative analysis of sugars spots are described. -- AATA
