Abstract
This long chapter titled Conservation is divided into Storage -- needs special attention, pullout racking preferable and then compartment racks. The author rules out stacking and explains the dangers to the object. Solander boxes are also useful. The environment must be closely watched and, if possible, should be identical with conditions in the gallery. Movement of pictures -- prob lems of administration, packing and transport. Glazing -- controversial and discusses the pros and cons. Lighting -- must be controlled to correct levels. Cleaning and restoratron -- concern of professional expert, but some first aid advice given. -- AATA
