Abstract
Cannon-Brookes has drawn up a list of rules to be followed by those who escort travelling works of art. He discusses the special problems associated with each method of transportation, such as ease of supervision, control of environment and administrative/customs regulations. The escort, who must be present when the art is originally crated and who must supervise the loading of the vehicle(s), should be prepared for in-transit damages and equipped with notebook, tape measure, and camera to record them.
