Abstract
A herbarium should be housed in an adequately ventilated and heated room; a temperature between 55-65°F is ideal. In addition to cabinets, each room should contain a large table for laying out and sorting sheets. Lighting should be four to six feet above the table. A workroom for preparing specimens should be separate from the store. Design details of cabinets for storage are given with an illustration. Folder and containers are usually of paper and cardboard. Large collections can be heat-sealed into polythene bags. -- AATA
