The test ribbon, a piece of cotton which represents weave, yarn, whiteness, and strength, is put into the washing machine together with the laundry and makes it possible to follow the course of various washings and variations of parameters such as degree of whiteness, yellowing, greying, and use of chemicals. Analysis of test ribbon and test results are discussed. -- AATA
