Improper processing may lead to cellulose damage in all stages of textile finishing. In order to enable correlation of damage and certain production stages, an analytical method has been developed with which various foreign groups can be selectively determined. Detection of aldehyde, ketones, and carboxy groups is discussed. -- AATA
