Abstract
The term animal glue is normally confined to glues prepared from mammalian collagen, the principal protein constituent of skin, bone and sinew. Other types of glue obtained from animal sources are usually referred to according to the material they are derived from, for example, casein glue. These are described under separate headings at the end of this chapter. Soya bean glue, because of its protein nature, is also included.
