Abstract
In the Proceedings of the 2nd ICOM Waterlogged Wood Working Group Conference (1), Johnson reported on the recovery of Roman and medieval waterfront structures from the site at Billingsgate in the City of London, excavated by the Museum of London between January 1982 and March 1983. This paper covers the subsequent conservation and reconstruction of one of these structures, and the use of computerized axial tomography for the nondestructive dendrochronological dating of some of its timbers. -- AATA
