Abstract
In planning for the conservation of wall paintings an inventory muse be drawn up and two fundamental principles must be considered. Then the following processes are explained: preliminary examination, cleaning, control of biodeterioration, consolidation, filling of lacunae, retouching, removing the wall painting by the strappo or the stacco technique, and finally transferring the work onto a new support.
