Abstract
This is a non-technical report which deals with exhibition material in public collections. The author proposes a job-training program for museum people who will handle art works. There is a discussion of storage within two main categories: control of access to the storage area, and protection within it. There is a table which sets out the principal hazards to works of art and their effects. Methods of packing and of loading art onto trucks and railways are discussed. The final section of the book is a survey of insurance in relation to museums, including types of policies available, special clauses, values and settlements, moral hazards, breakage, claims and risks. See also Abstracts of Tech. Studies, 119.
