Abstract
Solubility parameter has been a powerful tool in the formulation and use of coatings. Recent advances include graphical methods of presentation and the concept of a three dimensional vector quantity. There is still room for improvement in the quantizing of the hydrogen bonding coordinate and in providing for crystallinity in polymers. The greatest practical challenge is in adapting solubility parameter to interfacial energies and pigment dispersion. -- AATA
