Abstract
The distribution of barium in the wood was determined by an x-ray technique and appears to be greatly affected by the method of impregnation. The immersion of veneers in barium salt solutions deposits barium only on the edges, and thus is insufficient for longterm protection. The penetration of barium, it was shown, occurred mainly through the rays. -- AATA
