Abstract
A preliminary investigation has been done on the methods of preservation and preventive conservation which are still practiced in the traditional society of Bangladesh. This introductory paper describes ethnographic materials made of cellulose, and the ingredients used for their preservation and preventive conservation. A number of surface active materials for cleaning textiles are also discussed. -- AATA
