Abstract
The life cycle of the furniture beetle has four stages: egg; larva or grub; pupa or chrysalis; adult beetle. To poison grubs, toxic gas or fluid is introduced into the wood. Gas penetrates the insect's tunnels more freely; however, it gives no protection against the risk of any subsequent attack by woodworms.
