Abstract
Recent excavations have uncovered remains of Bronze Age mining in central Wales. The chalcopyrite copper ore was quarried from an open pit using fire setting to weaken the rock which was then attacked with stone hammers. Three radiocarbon dates center on about 1600 BC.
