Abstract
The authors cite the carbon 14 dates and the corresponding calibrated age BC for 121 burials from Neolithic, Eneolithic and Bronze age burial grounds in the Baikal area and 15 age definitions for Yuzhni Oleni Island burials. The results pushed the earliest cultures in the region back to still earlier periods. The Kitoiskaya culture is now dated to the 6th millennium BC within the periodization of the Baikal region cultures and precedes the Isakovo culture.
