Abstract
PVC and conventional wallpapers have the property of sorption of sulphur dioxide. Measurements of the uptake of sulphur dioxide using labelled sulphur has enabled the authors to conclude that conventional wallpapers have a greater uptake than PVC wallcoverings and that the uptake is influenced by such factors as surface finish, design patterns and sweat deposits. The results of the sulphur dioxide uptake by some 18 samples islisted, measurements being taken from the face and the back of the papers and also the remaining sulphur dioxide content after washing. Photographs and the corresponding autoradiographs are also included. -- AATA
