Specifications to be given to a commercial framer to provide adequate protection for framing prints and drawings are discussed in this issue. The deterioration of works of art on paper resulting from inferior backings and mounts may be avoided by using chemically pure matboards. Dimensional changes due to environmental factors, protection from dirt and diagrams illustrating methods of hinging, matting, and framing are described in some detail.
