A corrosion inhibiting composition comprises the product (X) obtainable by reacting propylene oxide or a butylene oxide with a product (Y). Product (Y) - an amido-amine is obtainable by reacting a polyamine e.g. tetraethylene pentamine, with a carboxylic acid e.g. stearic or tall oil fatty acid, a carboxylic acid anhydride or an ester of a carboxylic acid. Product (X) also has to be supported on or dispersed in a support. A typical support is a polymeric matrix such as an acrylic or methacrylic polymer.
