New sources of plasma excitation for emission spectroscopy have solved the principal technical problems (standardization, third-element and matrix effects), and offered new possibilities for archaeological material analysis, such as analysis of any element including main elements in the most varied alloys without preparation of solid standards, and analysis of non-conducting samples: corrosions and especially ore and scoria whose study is important in the investigation of the object's origin. Normalization of the operational conditions are facilitated by the fact that standardization and dosages are done in solutions.
