A museum should be comfortable for human occupation, and at the same time it should provide a healthy climate for its collection. In warm or hot climate the main design problem is to keep the sun out of the building as much as possible while in cool climates, the main climatic design problem is to keep within the building the heat transferred to or produced inside. While designing a museum building it is necessary toexamine the climate in the tropics. There are two major climatic zones in tropical climate: (i) Hot and dry; (ii) Hot and humid. Some measures for protection from solar radiation, moisture, and wind; air conditioning; ceiling heights and planning in general are considered. -- AATA
