Abstract
The general background of archaeological conservation is presented. Following a preliminary survey, planning for conservation at the ancient archaeological of Harappa, located in northeast Pakistan, is described, including the effect of climate and soil on the various artifacts. Identification, conservation, conservation laboratory equipment and supplies, and storage of artifacts are briefly touched upon.
