This is an extensive report on the planning and realization of Nothing Takes the Place of Leather; an Industrial and Applied Arts Exhibit of Leather... The outline for the exhibit came from Fraser Moffat, then President of the Tanners' Council: Animals and fish from which come skins; tanning materials from all over the world; technique of tanning; science in tanning; the leather ready for use in manufacture;small leather objects; dyeing leather; historical development of leather shoe, and leather in art and literature. The exhibit later toured and was then divided into two sections to be stored in the Newark Museum for lending. Many photographs of the original installation as well as charts and other illustrative material are included in the publication.
