Abstract
Asian, and Indian museums in particular, for the most part have failed in their responsibility of preservation. Crowding in storage is common, and housekeeping maintenance is neglected. Curatorial irresponsibility has resulted in a great deal of damage. The curator needs training regarding the nature of the materials, deterioration factors, and basic conservation procedures.
