Abstract
Sensitation of the thermoluminescence (TL) peak at 110°C of quartz due to heat and radiation is studied elaborately. This paper deals with a modified version of Zimmerman's model of sensitization in quartz. This modified version suits more to the physical variations that occur in quartz at elevated temperatures. The two high polymorphs of alpha-quartz and their corresponding characteristic hole traps (produced at high temperatures) are shown as the main reasons of the sensitisation.
