Abstract
Twenty-four elements in bronze samples were analyzed by the method with perhaps 15% error at 500 ppm. In classifying artifacts by level of copper technology 1) native copper; 2) oxidized ores (CuO, CuCO<sub>3</sub>); 3) reduced ores (Cu<sub>2</sub>S, Cu<sub>2</sub>FeS<sub>2</sub>) -- 75% of those of type 2 could be correctly classified from the mass spectrometry data. The Inca artifacts studied were confirmed to be mostly of type 1. -- AATA
