Abstract
The author visited many museums in Europe and the United States and took the opportunity to examine methods of storing invertebrate collections, principally the dry and spirit mollusc collections. Certain basic principles are required: those of security, ease of access and storage of material type. The author goes on to give examples of the type of mollusc collection storage at the Museums d'Histoire Naturelle, Geneva; The British Museum Natural History; The Man chester Museum; The Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University; The Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia; The Smithsonian Institution; and the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago. -- AATA
