The environmental and security conditions for good storage in art galleries are given. Housing of public and reserve collections in adjacent areas is recommended, with some practical ideas on achieving this aim. Methods of racking and boxing are suggested. The requirements for temporary exhibitions are also mentioned. A short discussion following the presentation of the main paper is included. It covers the storage of modern industrial collections, documentations, students, and donors. -- AATA
