Abstract
A newly developed technique is described for rapid screening of compounds for fungicidal activity against wood-rotting basidiomycetes and for the determination of effective end-use concentrations. A filter paper substrate is inoculated with an actively growing fungus. The filter paper is pretreated with the candidate chemical and wetted with a mineral salt solution. Effectiveness of the candidate chemical is determined 2 weeks after incubation by measuring the diameter of fungal growth around the inoculum. -- AATA
