Abstract
Recognizing that art was and is made to be seen, and that museums, galleries, institutions, and studios both public and private exist for the purpose of studying, protecting, preserving, and showing the works of art in their trust, the study group on the care of works of art in traveling exhibitions of the Culcon Committee on Museum Exchange assembled with the hope that feasible standards and tolerances could be identified for the care and preservation of works of art in international exchange. The study group here sets down the following guidelines for care and preservation of works of art in exchange exhibitions.
