Abstract
The typology of the relief of block sandstones in the Bohemian Massif is based on three categories distinguished on the basis of morphostructural, relative relief and genetical point of view. The morphostructure conditioned the differentiation of stepped lands, ridge lands and basins in dependence on the tectonic disruption and the lithology has the determined part in evolution of the sandstone relief. The relative relief of the homogenous geomorphological units of the lowest orders based on values of the relief amplitude represents the second categorizing point of view. Considering these criterions, the sandstone areas of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin can be divided into two groups: those of the Bohemian Tableland and of the Sudeten Mts. System. The third category group includes excavated landforms as phenomena of the relief genesis of block sandstones such as are valleys, structural ridges, monadnocks and accumulation landforms.
