The history during the 19th and 20th centuries, materials, and production methods of the independent sculpture workshops of the Gröden valley in Southern Tyrol are reviewed. Equipment and materials, models and designs used, polychromies, organization of trade, and export and special transportation methods to other European countries and to the United States are discussed.
