Abstract
This article presents a case history of reducing to actual practice the unique fabric sizing properties of CMC first observed in the laboratory. Laboratory data are presented which indicate that cotton sized with CMS has a slight resistance to soiling and a marked ease of washing after soiling. CMC solutions are being used in home laundries as a highly effective sizing agent which promotes ease of washing.
